Campaign Initiation

This client came to us in February of 2015. They operate in the manufacturing vertical and operate within multiple industries. They came to us to increase their visibility and integrate a B2C component into their B2B setup.

The way our campaigns begin over the first few weeks is to conduct deep research into your industry, competitors, keyword landscape, and other areas so that we can get a strategy started. We take an initial snapshot of the site as it stands, measuring the client and competitor ranking positions for selected keywords.

Technical Analysis

The next step is to deliver a full technical analysis. This covers server configuration, site structure, underlying code, and other technical elements that the rest of the work sits on. 

This is typically delivered to your IT team, developer, or whoever is responsible for making changes to your website. If you don't have someone in-house, we can take the reigns and make the changes for you once we are given access your server and development environment.

Technical Implementations

In addition to the full technical analysis, we also begin work on other elements, some of them being completions of tasks that were laid out in the original technical analysis. This is multifaceted and encompasses a wide range of elements that may need to be implemented or fixed.

Six Month Ranking Check-In

The initial technical implementations alone can make a profound difference to your rankings, even if we have not yet conducted a content audit and made recommendations based on our findings. 

It's important to note that this client was also in need of backlink remediation. This can be because they've had bad link-building done in the past but, in this case, their site has been online since the mid 90s and sites will inevitably get links from potentially harmful sites throughout their lifetime.

We generally perform link remediation on all of our clients' sites before implementing link-building strategies. 

The rankings here showed a significant increase. The +XX numbers are how many keywords moved into the #1, Top 10, and Top 50 results.

Six Month YoY Traffic Check-In

These increases in rankings can lead to, in some cases, quite dramatic increases in Organic traffic. 

In a six month period, we were able to take this client to a +13% in Organic traffic, which is quite significant, especially considering we are dealing with the difference between 150,000 and 107,000 sessions. This traffic can then lead on to increased revenue.

Feb 2016 vs Feb 2015 (One Year MoM)

We started in February 2015, so comparing February 2016 against our benchmark, we took client to +28% Organic traffic. Though we tracked about 200 keywords for this account, our primary ranking KPI was for one single keyword, which was supported by the rest of the keyword landscape. Some industries are like this, and some aren't. It just depends.

This is the first month we could compare against our initial work. This is a really cool milestone for campaigns. This allows us to start really measuring our own work against itself and thus are able to develop more in-depth strategies to build upon the work we have already done.

Finally Overtook #1 Spot for KPI Keyword

These campaigns are long-term and can take a while to mature. A huge milestone was reached at 1.5 years into the campaign. Client overtook the #1 position for their primary KPI keyword.

After 1.5 Years: Signing On a Subsidiary Company

By this time, the client was so pleased with their results that they decided to sign on one of their subsidiary brands, operating under the manufacturing vertical in a different industry. 

Our campaigns are scalable and adaptable. Though we deploy the same general tactics, the specifics are always different. In this case, the subsidiary was a brand new company with a fresh web presence in a relatively untapped market.

After 2 Years: Signing On a Another Subsidiary Company

Seeing impressive results for both companies they had signed on, client began negotiations for a new contract on another subsidiary company of theirs in April of 2017, 2 years and 2 months after originally signing on their primary company.

First Subsidiary 1-Year Check-In

We achieved exciting results within the first year for the first subsidiary. Moving some of their most valuable keywords into the top 20 results, and some even in the top 10, is a remarkable achievement, especially considering that the site was a fresh site.

Playing into account here, however, is that the industry had high resource ubiquity and was a relatively untapped market.

In 1 Year, First Subsidiary Overtakes National Brands

While it's difficult to express because of redaction, this campaign was wildly successful. In just over a year, we started seriously competing against large, household brands in a very lucrative, untapped, new market. 

The client was happy they decided to bring on this company and that the campaign was this successful in such a short period of time.

At 2.5 Years, Client Needs More Employees To Keep Up

By this time, the campaign had reached analytical maturity, meaning we have established pure YoY benchmarks. Once we are YoY competing with our own work, we can better consult on strategic decisions moving forward.

I think you get the picture here. This campaign has continued on to be a really successful one. The next section shows each year over the original benchmark traffic reports.
